Department of Public Administration FISIP Undip Strengthens Its Strategic Role in Public Governance Through the Involvement of Professors in the Selection of the Board of Directors for the Grobogan Regency Public Enterprise

Semarang, April 2026 – Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, has once again gained national recognition through the involvement of one of its professors, Prof. Dr. Dra. Kismartini, M.Si., as an independent member of the Selection Committee for the Board of Directors of the Regional Public Water Utility (Perumda) Purwa Tirta Dharma, Grobogan Regency, for 2026.

The assignment was formally issued by the faculty leadership as part of institutional support for academic engagement in public sector governance . This involvement reflects a high level of trust in the competence and integrity of the Department’s academic community at the national level.

In her role, Prof. Kismartini participates in key stages of the selection process, including the fit and proper test for prospective directors. The process is further strengthened through collaboration with professional institutions to ensure objectivity and quality, as indicated by the cooperation agreement regarding the implementation of the fit and proper test for candidates .

This involvement highlights the tangible contribution of public administration scholarship in strengthening governance within Regional-Owned Enterprises. With expertise in public policy and governance, the presence of an independent academic member is expected to ensure a transparent, accountable, and merit-based selection process.

Furthermore, this achievement reinforces the Department’s position as a center of excellence in public administration in Indonesia. Beyond its roles in education and research, the Department continues to actively contribute to real-world governance practices and institutional strengthening.

Through this engagement, it is expected that collaboration between higher education institutions and local governments will continue to grow, fostering more professional, ethical, and sustainable public governance.
