Research Activities Of Public Administration Lecturer In The Province Of Bali

The Public Administration Study Program Lecturer Team carried out research activities on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali. Team members on research activities consist of Dr. Augustin Rina Herawati, M.Si, Dr. AP. Tri Yuningsih, M.Si, Dr. Ida Hayu Dwimawanti, MM, involving students to conduct a research activity entitled “ANALYSIS OF GOVERNANCE IN FOOD SECURITY POLICIES IN INDONESIA AND NEW ZEALAND.” The purpose of this study is to explain the value of governance and leadership in food security policies in Indonesia and New Zealand and to identify and analyze the processes of governance in food security policies in Indonesia and New Zealand, starting from policy planning, implementation, to monitoring mechanisms. Food security has become a crucial issue for every country because it is an absolute requirement for the implementation of national development. The locus of this research was carried out in the Province of Bali because the Province of Bali has the highest food security in Indonesia based on the report of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on the 2022 Food Security and Security Map. This research activity was welcomed by Dr. Ni Luh Sukadani, S.Pt., M.M.A as Secretary of the Office of Agriculture, Food Security for the Province of Bali, Mr. I Nyoman Widyana Putra, SP, M.Si as Head of the Food Security Division, and staff of Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali .

Based on data obtained from the Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali, the Food Security Index is used to measure the level of food security. The policies implemented to achieve future targets are implementing various programs such as the Organic Agriculture System Program, Increased Value Added and Competitiveness, and the Food Sovereignty Program. The program is an effort by the Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali in increasing production and productivity, increasing food availability, improve programs to consume quality, safe and healthy food, and implement leadership policies. The achievements of the Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali are in line with the target based on the results of the Food Security Index which shows that the Province of Bali has the Highest Food Security Index. The Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali has a strategy for supervising sustainable food security policies by conducting monitoring and evaluation in every area that has low food security and is food insecure. One of the factors hindering the Agriculture and Food Security Service of the Province of Bali in implementing food security policies is one of the obstacles to food distribution.
