Rembang, February 2025 – A team of lecturers from the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP), has conducted a community service activity titled “Training on the Use of Google Form as a Data Collection Tool for Members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) in Turus Gede Village, Rembang District, Rembang Regency.”

The activity was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sri Suwitri, with members Prof. Dr. Endang Larasati Setianingsih, M.S. and Dr. Ida Hayu Dwimawanti, M.M., and received funding support from the FISIP UNDIP RKAT for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

This training aimed to enhance the digital literacy and administrative capacity of PKK members in Turus Gede Village in collecting activity data more efficiently and accurately. Until now, most of the PKK’s data recording has been done manually, making it prone to errors, duplication, or data loss.

Through this activity, participants were equipped with skills in creating and managing Google Forms and Google Spreadsheets as digital tools for data collection, processing, and archiving. The training was conducted interactively through a combination of theoretical sessions, hands-on practice, and group discussions. Participant enthusiasm was evident from their active involvement throughout the event.

“This training is a small yet strategic step in strengthening digital administrative capabilities at the village level,” said Prof. Dr. Sri Suwitri, the head of the community service team. She added that the use of technology such as Google Forms not only aids recording efficiency but also supports transparency and accountability in PKK activity reporting.

Evaluation results showed that over 80% of participants successfully created digital forms independently and were ready to apply them in routine PKK activities. Participants also expressed that using Google Forms simplifies the process of activity documentation and reporting to the village and district levels.

Moving forward, the FISIP UNDIP community service team plans to conduct ongoing mentoring by establishing internal PKK cadres who will serve as digital facilitators in Turus Gede Village. This effort is expected to strengthen program sustainability and accelerate the digital transformation of the village community.

This activity is a tangible manifestation of the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, where the university actively plays a role in empowering the community through the application of science and technology. With the enhanced digital capabilities of PKK members, Turus Gede Village is expected to become an example for other villages in Rembang Regency in implementing technology-based data governance.
