Enhancing Digital Skills of Generation Z for Coastal Communities through Digital Technology in Turusgede Village, Rembang Regency

Semarang, Tuesday, April 29, 2025 — To strengthen the role of Generation Z in responding to rapid technological advancements, the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University, conducted a community service activity in Turusgede Village, Rembang Regency.

The event carried the theme “Enhancing Digital Skills of Generation Z for Coastal Communities through Digital Technology in Turusgede Village, Rembang Regency”, and was led by the Head of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. A.P. Tri Yuniningsih, M.Si.

The event was also attended and supported by faculty members Teuku Afrizal, SE, M.Env.Mgt, Ph.D, Johan Bhimo Sukoco, A.Md, S.Sos, M.Si, and Damaris Bernike Bellastuti, M.A., who also served as the speakers in the discussion and socialization sessions.

The activity was assisted by Rizki Hidayati, S.A.P., M.A.P., a graduate student of Public Administration, along with undergraduate student team members Muthia Fakhira, Faizal Aji Bimantoro, and eight other undergraduate students from Rembang.

The event was officially opened by the Head of Turusgede Village, Mr. Sutikno, and was also attended by representatives from the local youth organization (Karang Taruna) and the village Family Welfare Movement (PKK).

Through this program, it is hoped that the community — especially the younger generation in coastal areas — will improve their digital literacy and be better prepared to face the challenges and opportunities brought by rapid technological development.
